Each year in Houston Primary School we come together to raise awareness of Fairtrade. To do this each class has lessons on the importance of Fairtrade and have the opportunity to buy something from the Fairtrade Stall. We purchase Fairtrade products from a local supplier and all profits go to the Fairtrade Charity. We do not have a total yet and will publish this as soon as the stall closes. Thank you to all parents, carers and pupils for supporting this.
This year, in addition to this, pupils were invited to design a badge in support of the Go Zero by 2030 campaign. We aim to reduce our carbon emissions and help reverse the climate crisis which so badly affects farmers across the world. A winning design from each year group was chosen by the pupil council members and the badges were made and sold at the Fairtrade stall. The photos below show the designers and their badges.
